The Loder Hall
The Loder Hall is our community facility, open to all residents of Maidwell. It hosts community events, acts as our polling station and is home to the Parish Council. It is available for hire by villagers and others.
The Hall was built in 1933 and was bequeathed to the village of Maidwell by Sir Reginald Loder as a “Reading Room”. Sir Reginald (1864 -1931) was the Squire of Maidwell and lived at Maidwell Hall. As it turned out, Sir Reginald’s bequest of £1,000 was insufficient to complete the hall and the balance was provided by his wife Marjorie
The Hall is a registered charity (243259) and is entirely self-funding via hire charges, social events and occasional donations. It receives no funding from the local authority.
This is Maidwell’s Village Hall and is there for the benefit of residents. We will welcome and support ideas from residents for clubs and other activities.
