A14 cyclical maintenance – 6 July to 22 July
We’re writing to inform you of some upcoming work on the A14 between junction 3 and junction 13. Our work will include grass cutting, drainage works, sign cleaning, structure inspections and vehicle restraint system (VRS) repairs and inspections.
When will this work take place?
We’ll work overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from 6 July 2026 to 22 July 2026, Monday to Friday.
To reduce disruption, we’ll work within phased closures of the A14 as follows:
- 6 July to 8 July – A14 eastbound full closure and westbound lane closure from junction 3 to junction 7
- 8 July to 9 July – A14 westbound lane closure between junction 8 and junction 6 including junction 8 westbound entry slip and junction 6 and 7 entry and exit slip
- 9 July to 11 July – A14 eastbound full closure and westbound lane closure from junction 7 to junction 10
- 13 July to 15 July – A14 westbound full closure and eastbound lane closure between junction 10 and junction 7
- 15 July to 18 July – eastbound full closure and westbound lane closure between junction 10 and junction 13
- 20 July to 22 July – westbound full closure from junction 13 to junction 10.
During closures, fully signed diversions will be in place which have been agreed with the local authority.
What does this mean for you?
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
We’d also like to apologise for any inconvenience or disruption to those living close to our work. We’ll make every effort to carefully manage noise levels and additional lighting to minimise the impact.
