An Election is to be held for a Member of Parliament to serve the Daventry Constituency.
Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Acting Returning Officer, at the Council Offices, Lodge Road, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 4FP. 3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the (Acting) Returning Officer at the Council Offices, Lodge Road, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 4FP on any day after the date of this notice, between Monday and Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Thursday 11 May 2017. 4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on 8 June 2017.

NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the death of Rod Smeaton a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of councillor for the above named ward (Draughton) in the Parish of Maidwell with Draughton.
The vacancy will be filled by election if, within fourteen days of the date of this notice, any ten local government electors for the said ward of the parish submit a written request to the Returning Officer, Daventry District Council, Civic Offices, Lodge Road, Daventry, NN11 4FP.
In computing the fourteen days, a Saturday or Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday or a Bank Holiday, or a day appointed for public thanksgiving or mourning shall be disregarded.
If no written request for an election is received by the Returning Officer within the time specified, the vacancy will be filled by co-option by the Parish Council.

It is with much sadness that I write to advise you of the sudden death of our Chairman, Cllr Rod Smeaton.
Rod had been a Councillor for many years and was a proud and passionate Councillor who always wished to do the best for the families living and working in the Parish.
Our sympathies go to Ann and the family.

The Village Confines Group consultation dates are to be Thursday, 16th March 2017 from 2 till 7pm and Saturday, 18th March 2017 from 11am till 4pm at Loder Hall, Maidwell.
There has been a lot of work gone into the project by the working group and it is hoped that as many residents as possible are able to drop-in and give their comments on the village confines.
