Give your views on conservation areas
People are invited to give their views on plans which aim to protect the historic interest of two areas in Daventry District.
Daventry District Council (DDC) has produced a draft appraisal and management plan setting out proposals to create a new Conservation Area in Spratton.
It has also drafted a new Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for Overstone Hall, providing information on the special architectural and historic interest of the hall and setting out a framework for planning applications and decisions which could affect the significance of the grade II listed building.
Public consultations on both documents have been launched Monday 15 March and people have until 5pm on Monday 26 April to have their say.
Copies of each document together with details of how to give feedback can be found at www.daventrydc.gov.uk/conservationareas
Copies can also be posted on request by emailing heritage@daventrydc.gov.uk
People are also invited to online exhibitions to find out more:
- An online session to discuss the Spratton conservation area consultation will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday 1 April
- The online session to discuss the Overstone Hall SPD takes place at 6.30pm on Tuesday 13 April.
People can register to attend a session by emailing heritage@daventrydc.gov.uk
The consultations are part of a wider review of the District’s conservation areas – places considered worthy of preservation or enhancement because of their special architectural or historic interest.
Designation as a conservation area puts in place tighter planning controls for anyone seeking to alter or demolish a building, or carry out work to trees, in order to maintain the special interest of the area.
