NOTIFICATION OF PLANNED ROAD WORKS
A14 Eastbound, between the M1Junction 19 (Catthorpe) and A14 Junction 1

Highways England have let us know that they will be undertaking road works overnight on the A14 eastbound, between the M1 at junction 19 (Catthorpe) and A14 at junction 1 Welford.
They will be carrying out 4km of carriageway resurfacing patching works for four shifts before defects deteriorate to a level that will require more immediate attention in the form of emergency works combined with associated closures.
They have also planned to undertake cyclical maintenance activities such as barrier retensioning and grass cutting.
These planned works will improve the road surface by repairing identified defects on the carriageway. Once complete, all road users will benefit from improved safety and a more pleasant driving experience

This work will take place between 30th May and the morning of Monday 11th June, 2018.
The complete full main line closure(s) of the A14 between M1 J19 and A14 Junction 1 Welford (eastbound) are scheduled;
1. Saturday 2nd June 8pm until Sunday morning 8am 3rd June
2. Sunday 8pm 3rd June until Monday morning 5am 4th June
3. Saturday 9th June 8pm until Sunday morning 8am 10th June
4. Sunday 8pm 10th June until Monday morning 5am 11th June
Please note that all the planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Unfortunately they will have to completely close the A14 between M1 J19 and A14 Junction 1 Welford (eastbound) to undertake the carriageway resurfacing patching works to maintain a safe environment for their workforce and customers. These patching works are currently planned for Saturday nights and Sunday nights on consecutive weekends to minimise disruption for motorists and disturbance experienced by communities.
Their  cyclical maintenance activities such as barrier re-tensioning and grass cutting will be undertaken overnight with lane closure(s) maintaining at least one trafficable running lane at all times Monday through to Friday inclusive.
While the A14 eastbound carriageway, between the M1 at junction 19 and A14 at junction 1 is closed they will:
 put in place fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with the local authority (the main diversion route is M1 southbound to M1 Junction 15 then northbound on the A45 to the A45/A43 Weston Favell junction, traffic will then travel up the A43 on Lumbertubs Way to A14 Junction 8 and re-join the A14).
The A14 westbound carriageway will remain open throughout the work.
