Notification of upcoming works – A14 junction 4 to junction 7 filter drain renewals
Re: A14 junction 4 to junction 7 filter drain renewals
I’m writing to inform you of some upcoming drainage work on the A14 between junctions 4 and 7. As part of the work we’ll be cleaning and renewing the drainage assets, vegetation clearance, safety barrier work and street lighting replacement where it affects drainage to provide a safer carriageway for road users.
When will this work take place?
We’ll be carrying out work overnight, Monday to Friday, between 8pm and 6am, from 22 June 2026 to 30 September 2026.
In order to carry out this work safely, we’ll install closures alongside a speed limit reduction to 40mph.
- 22 June to 27 June – A14 junctions 4 to 8 eastbound full closure with westbound lane closure
- 29 June to 4 July – A14 westbound full closure with eastbound lane closure
- 27 July to 22 August – A14 junctions 4 to 8 eastbound full closure with westbound lane closure
- 24 August to 30 September – A14 westbound full closure with eastbound lane closure
- Eastbound 40mph speed limit from 27 July to 9 September
- Westbound 40mph speed limit from 6 August to 23 September
What does this mean for you?
During the closures, multiple signed diversions will be in place and can be viewed here.
Where it is safe to do so, access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained in emergency situations.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
Please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
