West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan – Issues Consultation

The local planning authorities in West Northamptonshire i.e. Daventry District, Northampton Borough and South Northamptonshire Councils with support from Northamptonshire County Council, have agreed to prepare a new Strategic Plan for the area. This will replace the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy and will cover the period 2019-2041, although the Vision may look further ahead.

The Issues Consultation is the first stage in preparing the new Plan, no decisions have been made yet and the purpose of the document is to raise awareness and stimulate debate. We have produced an Issues Consultation document which includes a series of questions on which we would like your views. In addition to the Issues document we have produced a Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report which is available for comment and there is also an opportunity to put forward ideas for strategic sites through a ‘call for sites’ exercise.

The Issues Consultation document and the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report are available for public consultation from:

5th August to 11th October at 5pm

The consultation documents including the call for sites form are available on the Joint Planning Unit’s consultation website:https://westnorthantsplan.inconsult.uk/ . You are encouraged to visit the website and use the online forms available to respond to the consultation.

The documents are also available for inspection at the following four Council Offices:

– Northampton Borough Council, The Guildhall, St Giles’ Square, Northampton NN1 1DE;

– Northamptonshire County Council, ONE Angel Square, Northampton, NN1 1ED;

– Daventry District Council, Lodge Road, Daventry NN11 4FP; and

– South Northamptonshire Council, The Forum, Moat Lane, Towcester, NN12 6AD.

 The documents are also available for inspection at local libraries: From the week commencing 12th August copies will be available for viewing in all the local public libraries across West Northamptonshire area.
