Citizens Advice Daventry are recruiting volunteers.

Citizens Advice Daventry and District provides free, confidential, impartial information and advice to the residents of Daventry Town and the surrounding District. They are based on the first floor of the Abbey buildings just off the Market Square in Daventry.

The service relies on a group of dedicated volunteers who give their time freely each week to help others.

They are currently looking for some more volunteers. People who have some free time and are willing to learn a new skill and give about 6 hours each week.

Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Alert registration is open and you can register to receive information on issues in the local area.  NNA is the messaging service run by Northamptonshire Police and was formerly known as Community Connect.  It has been re-launched under the name Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Alert and now has greater functionality than previously, allowing frontline police officers to send alert messages direct from their mobile devices to thousands of local people. They will be able to do this in real-time while they are out and about policing the county.

The alert service is free and simple to activate by registering at www.northamptonshireneighbourhoodalert.co.uk and is available to anyone living or working in Northamptonshire.

After signing up to the messaging system, people will receive regular alerts fromNorthamptonshire Police, Neighbourhood Watch and other partner organisations, keeping them up to date and informed about crime, and issues relevant to them and the area where they live or work.

Alerts are received either by email, text message or voice message – whichever suits.  People will also be given the option of what they want to receive alerts about, and how often – they will only receive messages about topics they have selected.

Northamptonshire County Council 2018-19 Budget Consultation: Phase 2 is now live. This includes consultation on the level of Council Tax they propose to set for 2018/19 and more savings and income generation proposals (adding up to a value of £24.7m) on how they will manage next year’s budget. It also includes the draft Council Plan 2018-19 to 2019-20, which sets out their vision for how they will deliver services and be financially sustainable.

Your feedback on this consultation is really important, and all consultation feedback from both phases will be analysed and considered, and will help Councillors make a final decision on the Budget at the Full Council meeting on 22nd February 2018.  This meeting is held in public and anyone wishing to speak at the meeting must contact Customer Services on T: 0300 126 1000.

The consultation on Phase 2 of the budget proposals covered by this survey will start on 20th December 2017 and end on 30th January 2018.

They want to hear your views about the proposals. Please read the related documents to gain a better understanding of the budget proposals before you comment on them. The Phase 2 Budget Proposals are listed on the Draft Budget webpage, and Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) have been prepared for those budget proposals that may have an impact on service users and/or the wider community.

This consultation closes on 30^th January 2018.

Missed waste and recycling collections.

Daventry DC have informed us that garden waste collections in Daventry District have been suspended until next Thursday (December 21) to allow crews to catch up on black bin collections that they were unable to make due to the adverse weather conditions.

• Residents in Brixworth, Pitsford, Boughton, Old, Scaldwell, Holcot, Hannington, Walgrave and Moulton who were due a black bin collection this week should keep their bins, boxes and food waste out and crews will attempt to return by Saturday (December 16). If you live in Moulton, Church Brampton or Chapel Brampton and you were due a garden waste collection, please return your bin and put your black bin/recycling/food waste out as normal next week.
• All other households on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday collections should present their black bin on their scheduled collection day next week (December 18,19 & 20) along with their recycling boxes and food waste. If you are running out of room in your recycling boxes, you can put out excess recycling in clear sacks or thin white supermarket-type bags. Any rubbish that won’t fit in your black bin can be placed in a sack and put out for collection.
