Commissioning 0-19 Public Health Consultation by Northamptonshire County Council. NCC is responsible for making sure that all children (aged 0-19) are safe, as healthy as they can, and that any health or development problems are identified as early as possible and the right treatment and care offered.
This includes offering every pregnant mother wellbeing assessments during the third trimester of pregnancy and after the birth of a child, providing support for breast feeding, health assessments and development checks at key points in every child’s life, and advice support and information to help all families support their children to grow up happy, healthy and achieving their full potential.
This service is currently delivered by the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service, which is made up of Health Visitors and School Nurses (these are registered nurses who have additional public health qualifications depending on whether they work with families and young children 0-4 or with young people aged 5-19), specialist breast feeding nurses and nurses who have been specially trained to deliver support to teenage parents. The nursing teams are supported by nursery nurses and other support staff and liaise closely with family doctors, hospital A and E departments, Children’s Centres and social care staff.

Unlocking the digital potential of rural areas research by Rural England.
We have been sent the following details of their survey aimed at businesses operating in rural areas. It can be found at this link:https://ruralengland.org/unlocking-the-digital-potential-of-rural-areas-research/
“Digital connectivity, mobile working, Skype meetings and e-commerce have become the norm for many businesses and are hugely important to their efficiency and productivity.
Rural England – the not-for-profit research body which the RSN helped establish – is undertaking research on Unlocking the Digital Potential of the UK’s Rural Areas. This explores how rural-based businesses currently use digital (online IT and communications), how important it is to their business model, what constraints they face with digital uptake and what economic benefits could accrue if those constraints were overcome.
Central to this research is a questionnaire survey for businesses located in rural areas. Can you please help us to promote this survey to businesses in your local area. Rural England wants to hear from businesses in all sectors (from farms to tech companies), of all sizes (from sole traders to large enterprises), of all types (from PLCs to social enterprises) and of all ages (from start-ups to long-established firms).
Please consider how your local authority and its partners can help spread the word about this survey via newsletters, business networks and other communication channels. This is an important policy topic and there are plans to discuss the survey results with influential audiences in Parliament and elsewhere.
Please help us promote the survey: responses will be accepted until Friday 1st September.
All survey responses will be treated as confidential by the research team and businesses do not have to complete any survey questions that would identify them.
More information about the project, including Rural England’s research partner (Scotland’s Rural College) and its project funder (Amazon UK) can be found on its website: https://ruralengland.org/unlocking-the-digital-potential-of-rural-areas-research/

Commissioning Healthwatch Northamptonshire 2018-2021 Consultation
Healthwatch is an independent consumer champion for people who use health and social care services. Its job is to ensure that local voices are heard and that people’s views and experiences are used to improve existing services and to help shape future services. Where concerns and problems about care services have been identified they will ensure that the right people know and check that action is taken to resolve them and prevent them from happening again.
Each local authority is required by the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to make arrangements to establish and maintain a local Healthwatch organisation in its area. Healthwatch Northamptonshirehas been established since 2013 and its current contract ends in March 2018.
Northamptonshire County Council are re-commissioning their Healthwatch services, with the new service being live from 1 April 2018, and we would like to hear your views to help us explore and shape how Healthwatch in Northamptonshire will look from April 2018 onwards.
After the consultation has ended we will consider the views of local people and organisations along with any other relevant information and will use these to develop the best model for Healthwatch in Northamptonshire.

Commissioning Support for the Voluntary and Community Sector 2018-2021 Consultation
The Voluntary Sector Support contract ends on March 31st 2018. Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) are seeking views from Voluntary and Community Sector organisations, volunteers and individuals who access services both from the Council’s currently contracted organisation (Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire) and other non NCC funded support organisations that provide similar services to communities and organisations.
The current contractor in addition to providing externally facing services to organisations, communities, volunteers and individuals provides views from the Voluntary and Community Sector to the Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) and strategic boards (Health and Wellbeing, Sustainable Transformation Plan for example) so that these are included in statutory business planning.
This consultation is required to ascertain the views from Voluntary and Community Sector organisations, volunteers and individuals to help shape the new contract for 2018 – 2021. Consideration needs to be given to tighter budgets but ensuring that the service is targeted to the most need as described by the outcomes of the consultation.
If you currently work for, volunteer or access services from Voluntary and Community Sector support organisations, then we would like to hear your views to help shape the development of the next Voluntary and Community Sector support contract.
