DDC grant scheme offering a helping hand to community groups
Voluntary and community groups in need of support are urged to apply for a grant from Daventry District Council (DDC).
The Council’s voluntary and community sector grant programme can help groups make improvements to community buildings, put on fundraising events, pay for new equipment and cover training costs or expenses for volunteers.
Groups can apply for up to £15,000 to cover up to half the cost of a capital building project, up to £1,000 for community projects, equipment, training or expenses, and up to £500 to help organise a community fundraising event.
Additional funding for capital projects in Daventry has recently been made available and groups are invited to apply now.
Recent beneficiaries of the grants programme include: Hannington Village Hall, which received £1,000 for refurbishment work; Weedon Bec Pre-School, awarded £813 for new computer equipment; and Cold Ashby Playing Fields Association, which is installing a new outdoor gym with the help of a £1,000 grant.
Ian Vincent, Chief Executive at Daventry District Council, said: “We’re pleased to support dozens of community organisations each year through our grants programme and I would urge representatives of groups across our District to find out more about the range of funding on offer and submit their applications.”
