A14 Update to 19 December 2019
The essential maintenance work continues on the A14 between junction 2 and the M1 junction 19.
Two Week Look Ahead
Work continues on the A14 westbound carriageway with closures from 8pm to 6am, with both carriageways open during the day.
The overnight closures recommenced last night Thursday 5 December until Friday 13 December. Please note, this is an additional night from what was stated in previous correspondence.
After the weekend off, work will take place for four nights, Monday 16 December to Thursday 19 December, which takes us up to the Christmas Embargo.
Other Schemes in the Area
Starting on Monday 9 December, there will be overnight lane closures in both directions between the M1 J19 Catthorpe and M1 J21. The M1 will remain open and there will be minimal effect on journey times.
The week commencing Monday 16 December will see the works coinciding with the overnight closures of the M6 northbound between J2 and J4. I shall confirm their diversion routes next week.
Lane closures on the A45 at Chowns Mill Roundabout continue up until 20 December, but it is not expected that this will add any more time to the diversion.
Scheme Extension
Unfortunately lost time due to inclement weather has not been recovered; this means Highways England will be returning in the new year to carry out works that could not be completed. It is expected they will return on 6 January with overnight night closures of the eastbound carriageway. More information will be provided nearer the time.
