Domestic Abuse during coronavirus
Domestic Abuse during coronavirus
People’s day to day life has drastically altered due to the coronavirus pandemic. New measures to tackle the disease means people are social distancing and self isolating. These changes are essential to beat coronavirus and protect our NHS. The order to stay at home can cause worry and anxiety for those who are experiencing or feel at risk of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is unacceptable in any situation, no matter what stresses you are under.
For anyone who feels they are at risk of abuse, it is important to remember that there is help and support available to you. Guidance is also available to help perpetrators change their behaviour. Under the current restrictions, victims are still legally allowed to leave their homes to access domestic abuse support and resources.
