Holocaust Memorial Day on 27th January each year
Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27th January each year, and is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, through Nazi Persecution, and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. On HMD the survivors of these atrocities are honoured and groups challenge themselves to work to end discrimination and prejudice, and pledge to help create a safer, better future.
We have found out from Julian Harrison, the East Midlands Regional Support Worker for the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) that there is to be an East Midlands Regional Workshop. It will take place on Tuesday 18th October at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery. It’s a half-day event (from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm) and you can book your place now via our website: http://hmd.org.uk/news/book-
