Motorists urged to avoid minor roads and appeal for help with road-clearing effort
POLICE are urging motorists to avoid the county’s minor roads because of the adverse weather conditions.
Fallen trees have resulted in a number of road closures across the county.
In addition, police are appealing for members of the public who have tree-felling equipment, chainsaws or agricultural tree-moving equipment which they are willing to use to help the road-clearing effort to contact the Force Control Room on 101 and leave their details.
Anybody wishing to report fallen trees or branches on the roads should contact Street Doctor on 0300 126 1000.
Obstructions on major roads should be reported directly to Northamptonshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
