NCC Consultation opens on Free Childcare
NCC Consultation opens on Free Childcare today.
The Government has already made a commitment to provide up to 30 hours of funded childcare for children in working families (eligibility criteria apply).
This survey-based consultation aims to gauge the interest in, and demand for, these additional hours (e.g. above and beyond the current entitlement of 15 hours per week term-time for all 3 and 4 year olds) in early education and childcare settings in Northamptonshire.
The survey findings will be used to highlight any geographical differences in eligibility and interest.
The county council will be using survey findings in conjunction with data gathered from childcare and early education providers in Northamptonshire (subject to a separate, concurrent survey). Ultimately, the aim of both surveys is to see where there will be most pressure(s) on places and where there is a need to stimulate the market to ensure that there is adequate childcare provision (childcare sufficiency need).
Consultation ends 31st March 2017.
