Northamptonshire’s Police, Crime and Fire Commissioner is recruiting young people to be part of the Northamptonshire 2020/21 OPFCC Youth Commission
The OPFCC Youth Commission has been set up by the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to ensure that the views of young people are heard, and help change services for the better.
They are looking to recruit around 20 young people from across Northamptonshire to form the 2020/21 Youth Commission and are eager to encourage young people to apply whose voices might struggle sometimes to be heard. They are also keen to engage with young people who have already had experience of the criminal justice system. The age range for the Youth Commission is 14-19 years.
You can check out information about the commission at:
https://www.northantspfcc.org.uk/opfcc-youth-commission/ where you will find an information sheet that can be downloaded, and an online application form for young people to complete.
Paper copies of the application form are available by contacting Dale Willis, Youth Commission on 0797 602 1611 or Dale.willis@northantspfcc.pnn.gov.uk for any young people without access to a computer.
Applications opened on 1st July and will remain open until midnight on 31st July.
The first Northamptonshire Youth Commission ran from May 2019 until March 2020. The young people involved held a ‘Big Conversation’ with over 1000 young people in Northamptonshire – the results of their work are now shaping new initiatives that will help keep young people safer.
